Mid-week Driving Range

Met Wai at Golfer's Paradise on Wednesday (Feb 21st) after work. We hit from the upper range closest to the Pro Shop. Looks like GP had invested somemore money into the facilities and gotten nicer tee mats.

9 holes at Brea on Chinese New Year

Played 9 holes at Brea GC after church today.

I got paired up with an older gentlemen and his two sons, they were really nice.

It was nice and breezy today.

It was kinda of busy and took about 2 and 1/2 hours to finish.

I had fun eventhough I shot a terrible 53 with 22 plus putting (couple times I had to just pick up my ball in disgust!).

Not too bad considering this was my 36th round of golf within one year (I started playing in early March after my first lessons ended).

9 holes at Cerritos Ironwood

We started at 12:25pm, I'm wearing my new SC Trojan Nike Dry-Fit birthday gift shirt (thank you, Miss Samurai Princess!).

This is Chang, my walk on partner of the day

Here I am on the 7th

Finally made it to the 9th hole

After losing 3 balls in a row into the water hazard, I took a drop and almost got on the green but really close to the edge of the water hazard. I lost 9 balls total and shot a 57 / 20 for the day.

Pretty sucky but I still had fun!

Solo golfing at Birch Hills

DB's first tee shot lands on the fringe of the #1 green!

I was actually going to just practiced on the driving range at Birch Hills but the course was pretty empty so I got the guy at the club house to let me play on the "Sundowner" twilight rate ($10).

Sun Setting over Birch Hills Golf Course

It was pretty fun, I had almost the entire front 9 holes to myself. I started at 4:33 and ended exactly an hour later and best of all, I finished and shot one of my better rounds ever (although, I failed to par any holes but had a heck of a drive on #4 and lots of single boogies)!

DB finishing up 9 holes and broke in his new Nike golf shoes!

It was pretty fun! I love playing golf! Maybe I'll go hit some more after church tomorrow!?

Dad Millers Twilight golfing

My ol' golfing buddy, Rodney and I played 14 holes of golf today at Dad Miller's.

Fast food lunch after church and before golfing (ugh!).

Dad Miller's Driving range

DB at the start (1pm)

#3 fairway, long wait under the shades!

Our third was "Hank"

DB after 9 holes ... still got energy to play another 9 holes!

Dang, we only finished 14 holes today!

bathroom signage on the 15th hole.

It was fun getting back on the golf course after a three week holiday break. I had a lot good tee shots but awful mid-range iron and chip shots. I even bought a new John Daly 60 degree Wedge (don't really know how to use it yet) yesterday. Well, that's golf for the start of January 2007. A whole new year to look forward to!

The only really negative thing that happened early on the course was the group in front of us had got mad at each other and started to verbally abuse each other. It was kinda of bad scene and one of the non-Asian guy told the Asian guys that he was playing with to F* off and go back to Taiwan, etc ... then he looks my group and made a comment that he'll take on all four of us (like, huh? ... take your racism off the golf course). I guess it's true when people get upset they just start grouping all the "similar" races together and decide that we're all foreigners. It was funny, a four-some of mostly Indians came by afterwards asked who was making all the "get out of America ... you d*mn foreigner" ranting and THEY wanted to kick the NON-Asian guys' asses too! I guess that's how wars erupts. It's Human Nature ....
