Tiger regains #1 Ranking

Tiger Woods, won the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Invitational today by two strokes and thus regained his #1 title in both the world ranking and in the FedEx Cup. This was the eighth time he has won Arnold's tournament; his 77th PGA win brings him closer to Sam Snead's record of 82 PGA wins. 

Tiger wins WGC-Cadillac Champship

TW won his 17th WGC today.

Tiger won with a two shot lead, shooting a 71 one under par round at Doral, FL for the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

We got to try out some of the new clubs

The big Roger Dunn spot was taken over by national chain Golfsmiths this year. However the selection wasn't as good as last year and there were no apparent bargains or discounts from going to a regular Golfsmiths brick and mortar store. The most of the usual vendors along with the golf resorts and car dealerships were there.

 Aside from getting a free one year subscription to Golf Digest, and some free range balls at one of the local range, and a free tee time way out in San Clemente, this outing wasn't that great. But it was nice to go with some other golf fans who have never been, to atleast for them to see that this was like. It's probably better to go to your local Golfsmiths, etc ... to try out new clubs.

It's my first time at this course and first 18 hole round for 2013

My good friend Peter invited me out to his local course.

Got to warm up on some balls before our 11am tee time.

This course is right next to where the Goodyear Blimp is kept in Carson.

It was a pretty fun day, I was hitting pretty good with my driver and mid irons but as usual my putting and short game was terrible. I lost a couple of my balls in the "links" area ... jumped in not realizing that there are very sharp and painful needle plants in there (and might have been rattlesnakes as well)!

By the end of the day, the winds picked up and it got rather chilly. My friend had to jam after the 17th hole so I played the 18th solo. I got an unwelcome smell of the sewer line or something on the finishing hole ... yuck!

Other than the windy smelly ending, I rather like the course as it's mostly wide open and no water hazards. I'll be back again to play another 18!

Getting back into the swing - Stanton Golf Ctr

Hit my first bucket of balls this year! It was a nice surprise to get the early bird $5 large bucket special (before 11am).

It was pretty busy on Saturday so I had to hit in one of the unshaded bays.

After about 45 minutes of going thru all my clubs, I putted for another 10 minutes.

Tiger held on to a four shot lead to win at Torrey Pines at the Farmers Insurance Open tournament today!

In anticipation of my return to LA (and golfing), I took my backup set of clubs out to my dad's farm.

Practiced my irons along the top of the levee for about 40 minutes, good exercise!

Greenwood Country Club

The 18-hole "Greenwood" course at the Greenwood Country Club facility in Greenwood, Mississippi features 6,296 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 69.8 and it has a slope rating of 116.  Greenwood golf course opened in 1920. Bob Greenleaf manages the course as the General Manager.

One of my high school friends just invited me to play with him as his guest while I'm in town, very cool!

Japan's Ai Miyazato Wins Walmart NW Arkansas LPGA Tournament. 

Tiger Wins AT&T National Congressional Tourney

Woods won his 74th PGA event securing 2nd place pass Jack Nicholas and 8 behind Sam Snead today. As host of the Tournament, he donated the prize to his foundation.

This was my 4th time playing here this year (15th time total) and third time this month.
