First chance to come try out the early bird special at the local driving range.

There were two separate sets of places to hit from with the longest part about 240 yards. There were legal notices about $1,000 fines if you chose not to use the low flight balls provided by the driving range and about deliberately hitting balls into the homes beyond the driving range fencing.

I chose the longer part of the driving range since I brought my complete set of clubs. Hadn't hit for over a month so I was pretty much out of shape (even though I played an hour worth of Wii Golf the night before). Yup, as I first thought when I found this place less than an month ago, pretty "ghetto" and not really maintained but it was really close to where I live and it's hard to beat $5 bucks for a large bucket of balls. So I finished my bucket in about 50 minutes or so (with a couple rest breaks) and practiced putting on the beat up greens for about 15 minutes.

It wasn't too bad, not a place I'll bring anyone to impress to but cheap enough and close enough to go more often to warm up.
