Golfing with Gamera-San

Back at Birch Hills GC

DB finally hit a few straight Tee shots!

DB got Gamera-San out on the course! Gamera-San did well!

A beautiful California afternoon, it was a great day for golf!

DB and Gamera-San finished just before total darkness!

Dinner at The Hat (our 19th hole)!

A diet Coke, Large Chili Cheese French Fries

and a messy BBQ beef sandwich!

It was a last minute decision that my roomie and I decided to go golfing today. We went to our favorite 18 hole GC in Brea and played a round of twilight golf. Gamera-San still had his $15 off GC from the internet survey (I used mine a couple weeks ago) so his green fees plus cart cost $9.00! I paid the twilight fee $18.00 plus golf cart $6.00 plus $2 for golf cart deposit (which I forgot) so my cost was $26 but considering we finished our 18 holes before darkness (8:15pm) ... I think we did well!

We started off pretty well, I shot 50/20 on the front 9 holes but started messing up on the back 9 holes. My total score was 112/44 but hey at least I didn't lose any ball this time (I usually lose about 5 -6 ball every time I played at Birch) and didn't hit a single ball into the lake! I hit about three or so 250 plus Tee shots but unfortunately, I had quite a few 3 putts. Gamera-San did really well and parred several holes.

For the first time I can remember at Birch Hills, I finally hit a straight tee shot down the fairway on the 4th hole for about 240 yards (out of 369 to the pin, landing between the white stake and blue stake). For the third time in a row, I hit the 258 yard distance at the 17th hole (and for the 2nd time, past the green on the left side). I was totally happy that I didn't hit a single ball into the Lake from the 10th or 14th hole (although, I almost sliced one into the lake on the 10th ... my ball stopped about a foot from the edge of the lake at about 200 yard from the tee box).

All in all, in the end the scoring didn't matter. What did matter was that GS and I had a wonderful time outside playing a round relaxing golf! It was a good day!
