Scratching the golfing itch!

Eventhough, Gamera-San and I played 18 holes yesterday ... I still couldn't get golf out of my mind. I was thinking abou hitting balls all day. I tried to chip some golfballs on my lawn but that wasn't very satisfying. It only whet my appetite for hitting balls even more. There is something strangely addicting about swinging a long club, hearing that distinctive "ping" and then seeing a little white ball sail through the air away from you! Sort of like shooting "tracer" rounds from a firearm, I would imagine!

I finally broke down and grabbed my set of clubs and drove down to my local driving range (about 3 1/2 miles away) and hit about 150 ball before they turn out the lights. It was a cool evening and hardly anyone was out there tonight.

I drilled thru all of my clubs starting with my pitching wedge and spent the last 70 balls hitting with my Cleveland 3 wood and my Taylor Made Driver. I think I finally figured out how to straighten out my long drives as I hit pretty consistently far and straight with my driver. I still need work on using my pitch wedge (still hitting too many slices).

My favorite club from yesterday has to be my 4 iron ... it got me out of some tuff situations. Unfortunately, I found out it was too much club for under 100 yards.

Well, my golfing itch has been scratched for now. Think I'm going golfing with my coworkers on Wednesday or Thursday.

It was pretty deserted tonight
